Comics Continuum reports that David Hayter, who is writing and directing the Black Widow movie for Marvel and Lions Gate, told The Continuum there is progress on the film.
“I kust submitted the final draft of the script, and it has been received very postively,” Hayter told The Continuum. “We are supposed to sit down and discuss casting this week.”
Hayter has a long association with Marvel, having worked on X-Men and X2, and, more recently, Iron Man.
In other Marvel movie news:
* Jessica Biel, who played Abigail Whistler in Blade: Trinity, was named “The Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine, which unveiled Biel’s cover last week in New York City. Blade: Trinity debuts this month and runs into next month on Starz.
* The first trailer for X3 is a ways off yet. “Nothing is ready that I am aware of,” producer Ralph Winter told The Continuum. “I have not seen anything yet.”
* 20th Century Fox has revealed the box art for the VHS version of Fantastic Four, which like the DVD and UMD versions, will be released on Dec. 6. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.

CornerStoreComics.com has posted pre-orders for Marvel Legends 12 and 13. For series 12, they have listed Astonishing X-Men Wolverine, “Maestro” Hulk, Iron Fist, X-23, Sasquatch and Bishop for $9.99 each. They also have sets of six for $59.99 and cases of 12 for $103.99. More interestingly, they have series 13 posted using the line up that popped online last weekend. This the same line up that Jesse Falcon is pissed off at for being leaked and uses the same artwork. They even show the pack in henchmen that Jesse says are no longer going to be included. To their credit, they have dropped Crimson Dynamo, which according to Jesse was not in the line up. You can read my post to find out more about the Marvel Legends series 13 controversy here.
