I saw this announced yesterday, but didn’t actually get around to checking it out until now. Marvel announced that is again adding forums to their web site due to fans asking for it. There is a place to discuss everything Marvel, including movies, toys, video games and comics.
Just browsing the list of available forums, it looks very promising. I counted 31 different subject areas and all already have tons of topics and posts. Not bad! This looks like it may be a regular hang out for me. Here is a list of forums found there.

Comics Continuum just posted the facts on an upcoming special edition release of The Punisher on DVD. According to the post, the DVD is scheduled for release on Nov. 21. The disc will also feature 17 minutes of new footage.
In addition, there will be:
- Animated Kuwait Deleted Scene
- The Punisher Comic book Gallery
- “Making of” featurette
- All new Tim Bradstreet illustrations
The Kuwait scene, originally slated to open The Punisher, was never shot due to budget constraints. Although, when the DVD came out originally, it included a comic with a story that lead into the movie. I would guess that this animated intro will feature the story that was in the comic.
This should be a really good collectors item. I liked the movie and own the original DVD. I realize that they release new versions to increase their profits, but I hate it when they do this. I already own the movie and do not want to buy it again, but I would like to have the special features. Maybe I will rent it instead!

I just added DC Direct’s April 2007 solicitations to the store. There are some great items coming your way including the Kotobukiya Superman and the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman statue. I am running a 20% off sale right now, so be sure to check these out. Can you afford to pass up these collectibles?

Sideshow Collectibles has some very passionate customers. Today, I have two examples of Sideshow customers promoting their brand for them. You can’t buy this kind of exposure folks.
First, is Sideshow Laundry Day by Dave over at Rebelscum. This is a tutorial for using water to soak the clothing of Sideshow’s 12″ figures in order to make it hang better and look more realistic. It is a great read even if you don’t collect these thanks to Dave’s great work and sense of humor.
Second, is something I did myself, the Sideshow Collectibles Calendar. I created a calendar using Google Calendar and added the expected warehouse arrival dates of upcoming 12″ Star Wars figures from Sideshow based on the e-mails they send out to collectors that ordered those products. With several figures coming in a few weeks time, this calendar lets you see about when these figures should be shipping from Sideshow. I plan to maintain this over time as well as add future pre-orders. I also added the current list of items shipping now and coming within the next 30 days from Sideshow.
Do you have any examples of this you would like to show? Do you have any ideas like this you would like to see done in the future? Let us know in the comments section and get your ideas or links published here. Thanks!

Take a look at the new G.I. Joe Snake Eyes mini-bust from Diamond Select. I am really looking forward to this new line of G.I. Joe mini-busts. I don’t believe I am going to be getting all of these, but I can’t pass up this Snake Eyes bust. These new busts were shown recently at the San Diego Comic Con. The Beachhead mini-bust shown there also looks like it will be too good to pass up.
Action-Figure.com has a gallery of the G.I. Joe busts from the SDCC here. By looking at the pictures, they showed 4 but you can see others in the backgrounds. Here were the ones that were featured along with release dates.
- Duke - April 2007
- Shipwreck - May 2007
- Beachhead - June 2007
- Lady Jaye - July 2007
The mini-busts will retail for $45. In the background you can see, Gung Ho and Snake Eyes, plus a Destro statue. DST has also previously announced Cobra Commander and Zartan mini-busts.
I hope these catch on and Diamond Select makes a lot more of them. I think mini-busts are becoming more and more popular with collectors these days. With the fact that G.I. Joe is still one of the most popular toy lines to date, the future looks promising.

Art Asylum will be doing DC MiniMates for DC Direct this fall. If you remember your MiniMate history, Art Asylum started a line of 2 inch MiniMates for Marvel years ago, doing most of the major characters in the Marvel U.
DC also had a MiniMate line that came with Lego-like building sets. I don’t believe these sold very well. Kids didn’t like them and collectors might not have been willing to buy the building block sets just to get the figures. Needless to say they weren’t around very long.
Well, now they are back, and will be sold through DC Direct in 2 packs similar to the Marvel MiniMates. Series 1 through 3 have been announced and will include:
- Series 1 includes four two-packs: classic Superman & Armored Lex Luthor, Green Lantern & Star Sapphire, The Joker & Harley Quinn and Modern Batman & OMAC.
- Series 2 includes four two packs: Battle-Damage Superman & Brainiac, Booster Gold & Blue Beetle, Power Girl & Dr. Fate and Robin & the Penguin.
- Series 3 includes four two packs: Aquaman & Ocean Master, Battle-Damage Batman & Killer Croc, Green Arrow & Deathstroke and Wonder Woman & Ares.
Hopefully, this time around they will be as big of a hit with collectors as the Marvel versions were. Check out the link below for lots of pics from Wizard World Chicago.

Update: Due to productions delays, all orders on the DC MiniMates waves 1 through 3 have been cancelled. These items will be resolicited at a later date.

Hasbro now has a web site for their new Spider-Man Origins line. To see it, go to http://www.hasbro.com/marvel/. There is not much there right now. They have pictures of the new Signature Series and battle packs. The coolest thing is the Origin of Origins video. Notice the banner that says “coming this fall.”
It looks like Hasbro will be heavily promoting this new line and packing the shelves with all kind of Spider-man product. They may even put Toy Biz to shame. Let’s hope they promote the new Marvel Legends and other lines as good as the Spider-man product.

Marvel announces on their site that X3 will be released on DVD October 3rd. Here is what they had to say about what extras will be included.
The single-disc DVD release includes: three alternate endings, each with optional commentary by director Brett Ratner; 10 deleted scenes; audio commentaries from Ratner, the writers and the producers; a preview of the upcoming Ben Stiller movie A Night at the Museum; and two hidden “Easter eggs,” one of Beast reciting Shakespeare and the other of the X-Jet landing in Washington.
According to Marvel, there will also be a collector’s edition with an exclusive 100 page comic book with a new story by Stan Lee. In addition, all three X movies will be released together as a trilogy pack in the future.
With all the extras, this seems like a must have. I wonder since they are releasing this in October, what they will be releasing around Christmas time.

Ultimate Avengers 2 will be in stores on Tuesday. Target has it in their ad this week for $12.99, and it includes an extra disc with the Ultimates digital comic. Here is an excerpt from Marvel’s press release.
This August 8th, don’t miss the triumphant return of all your favorite Marvel Heroes — Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Giant-Man, Wasp, and Black Widow — in their second action-packed animated feature film! They are joined by the Black Panther as they try to find out what is behind the mysterious happenings that occur in his secluded African Kingdom. Only together can the Ultimate Avengers and Black Panther hope to save the country.
The DVD is packed with exciting extras such as a featurette on the original “The Ultimates” comic series, a gag reel, a “What Avenger Are You?” game, and a first look at two more upcoming animated feature films: Iron Man and Dr. Strange. Be sure to make yours Marvel with Ultimate Avengers 2 on August 8th
The extras on this one look really good. I really enjoyed the first Ultimate Avengers movie. I will be picking this one up on Tuesday.
