Halo collectibles from Gentle Giant are finally available for public display now at Comic Con. Some of these collectibles were shown at Toy Fair this year, but I guess fans were not allowed to take pictures. This usually doesn’t deter people these days, but I guess it is easier to control this at Toy Fair than other venues such as San Diego Comic Con.
On display are the Master Chief in a 12 inch figure, mini busts, and a Kubrick set from Medicom. Check out this Halo image gallery courtesy of figures.com.

Well, you can bank on this news now that I have enough info to officially release this here. Gentle Giant has a license to produce collectibles for the Indiana Jones franchise. No pictures yet, but word on the street that on display in San Diego is a statue of Indiana riding a horse and a bronze bust of Indiana. There is also supposed to be another statue of Indiana riding a motorcycle, but it isn’t on display yet. As soon as good pics come out, I will link to them here. Here is a link to a good pic of the horse statue and bronze bust. Update: below is a link to the Indiana Jones with motorcycle unpainted prototype statue. Click on the thumbnail for a larger version.

It seems Lucasfilm was out shopping around the license for Indiana Jones because of all the companies announcing that they have licensing deals this year at San Diego Comic Con. Star Wars has a historic licensing deal, but toys and other merchandise from Indiana Jones have never been plentiful, until now that is.
So far, Hasbro, Sideshow and Gentle Giant all have announced their Indiana Jones licensing deals. With a new movie coming out, I’m sure there will be more to come. It is a great time for collectors. We will be drooling over these products for the next few years to come!

For those of you that purchased the exclusive Gentle Giant Star Wars Coruscant Clone Trooper Mini Bust, start watching for the delivery guy because they are starting to ship. Rebelscum forum members are reporting that they are seeing credit card charges and receiving shipping notices. I myself have seen charges on my credit card, but have not received any shipping notifications. The Coruscant Clone Trooper bust was exclusive to Action Figure Xpress. The busts are now sold out.
If you want to see more proof they are shipping, they are showing up on eBay in greater numbers. As usual, prices are going up on this one. Current buy it now’s are between $120 and $185.
The Coruscant Trooper bust is limited to 2,500 and is the first clone bust to feature the Jango Fett removable head sculpt. These may be getting high prices on eBay now, but when they were up for order, it took quite awhile for them to sell out. If you want a shot at one of these, you may want to wait a few weeks until these have all shipped out. The market will be flooded for awhile, and you are more likely to get a better price.

Gentle Giant went overboard with exclusives this year big time. The exclusives are an issue for many fans, and this year has caused a huge backlash agaisnt Gentle Giant from the fans, like never before. So what does Gentle Giant have in store for next year? It looks like there will be less exclusives.
Gentle Giant has officially said that there will be fewer exclusives planned in 2008. This was said on the Gentle Giant blog in the comments before they took them down. Here is the exact quote from Gentle Giant employee, Amanda Burns.
On May 09, 2007 12:14 PM, Amanda Burns said…
Actually we already have it planned to have less exclusives next year.
Since they had 20 21 exclusives so far in 2007, less in 2008 could mean 19 or 20. But, I want this on record, so that if they break their promise, everyone will be able to see it.

Here are some great photo galleries from mintinbox.net of the Gentle Giant World Tour event at the Forbidden Planet store Thursday, July 12th. There are very good pictures of new Gentle Giant product that has not been shown publicly yet, including Royal Guard busts, Admiral Ackbar and more. Also, be sure to check out the photos of all the exclusives, and lots of candid shots of the fans buying them. Lastly, they have an interview with Karl Meyer of Gentle Giant. The site is in French so you may need a translator. I found the Google Toolbar has translator function that does an okay job. Enjoy!

The Mace Windu Clone Wars maquette exclusive went up for sale yesterday afternoon on StarWarsShop.com
for Hyperspace members only. The maquette was limited to 1,000 and was so hot it sold out in only a few hours. It was advertised as being the final maquette in the Clone Wars line.
Now Mace Windu is on eBay and is already rocketing in price. The SRP of the maquettes is normally $80, and that is what Mace sold for. On eBay as of this writing, starting prices are all already at $200 and buy it now’s are at $250.
The Mace Windu maquette is scheduled to ship on July 31. You may want to wait until this maquette is in collectors hands before you buy. The price could come down by then, but on the other hand, it could always go up. We’ll keep watching it and see what happens.

Gentle Giant posted their con schedule for events and signings at their booth at San Diego Comic Con on their blog yesterday. One thing I noted is that they are having another Slave Leia photo shoot like the one at Celebration IV earlier this year.
Many fans reported that this was a disaster because of the massive crowding this caused and Gentle Giant and the people running the convention were not prepared for it. Plus, there will be many more people at Comic Con than were at Celebration. Let’s hope the staff at Comic Con will be prepared for it this time around and have the proper procedures implemented before hand.

Gentle Giant just sent out an e-mail update to Premier Guild members on the status of the Premier Guild gift. Here is the full text of the e-mail.
Hello Premier Guild Members,
I know it has been a long time coming with the first Premier Guild Gift for you all. Our goal was to have it ready to send out to you the beginning of this month. The Premier Guild Gift includes many items (both licensed products and limited GGLTD exclusive items), some of which have yet to finish production. However, the first of many parts of the gift is ready and can be picked up at our booth (3513) at San Diego Comic-Con. A Star Wars Max Rebo Band Concert Black-Light Limited Edition Poster has been produced for you. This limited poster is for Premier Guild Members only and if attending San Diego Comic-Con you can pick it up in person. If you are not attending the show and/or don’t pick it up, we will be mailing them out to you when we return. As production of the rest of the items completes, we will be sending the rest of the gift/membership welcome pack to you.
Thanks,
The Gentle Giant Ltd. Team
