Wal-Mart Exclusive Marvel Legends Ares Wave

After a long year without Marvel Legends, suddenly they are popping up everywhere. This week the Wal-Mart exclusive Marvel Legends Ares wave started hitting local Wal-Marts. A friend of mine called me on Monday, letting me know they were out, and I was able to pick up all eight.

I admit at first I only picked these up for the sweet Ares build-a-figure. But now that I have them, I am really impressed with this wave. Hasbro has really stepped up the quality since they took over the Marvel Legends line. Maybe that was the reason for the long delay.

Obviously the build-a-figure is Ares. There are 8 figures in this wave which means 8 pieces. Yes, Hasbro is really milking it these days. One of the figures comes with Ares head and another comes with his helmet and weapons. It is nice that they kept the price down to about $10 a figure on this wave though and have not continued the price increase trend.

There is only one variant this time also, the Human Torch. The variant Torch is a darker color red with white lines across his body. I prefered the regular version and did not pick up the variant. Anyway, here is the Wal-Mart exclusive Marvel Legends Ares wave photo guide.

A Social Network for Toy Collectors

That’s right, Hero Hunt is becoming a social network. Announcing, herohunthq.com, a social network for toy collectors. If you like movies, comics and toys and want to connect with other collectors, this site is for you. It is a community site for collectors of toys where you can create a profile, start a blog, post photos, connect with other members, send private messages, add rss feeds and join a community! I will also be posting exclusive content there that will not be available on this site. In fact, herohunthq.com will eventually replace herohunt.com as the main site.

Why am I doing this? While I love blogging about toys and comics, there are a ton of news sites about toys and comics already out there. With this new site, I want to build a community around comics and toys. Now, you can have a network of toy blogs, photos, comments, etc.

If you are interested in this, please head over to herohunthq.com and sign up. You can check out my profile here, http://herohunthq.com/herohunt/.
