Mattel Issues a Statement on Masters of the Universe Roboto Error

Mattel has issued a statement admitting that the shoulders are reversed on the Masters of the Universe Classics Roboto figure that was sold on MattyCollector.com on Friday. This kind of thing infuriates me. Not that Mattel made a mistake. It’s that the mistake itself is so small, only nerds, who never stop examining every single detail of every property they consider themselves “fans” of under a colossal microscope of their own design, would ever notice this.

It’s actually debatable whether or not Mattel even made a “mistake” here. The only problem is that the sculpted pattern on the shoulders is reversed from the original toy from the 80′s. Mattel overlooked it, and has now apologized for it. But seriously, who would ever notice it? I would not have. If you noticed it and/or are concerned about this, you have too much time on your hands. You will never be happy with anything, and deserve to be miserable. Get a life, or go waste your time somewhere else.

I sincerely hope this is not a problem for 99% of the other collectors out there. Mattel is only doing this line for collectors anyway. If they did not care about the collectors, this line would not exist. So either buy the toys or don’t.

P.S. Roboto sold out in under 3 hours, by my count. So it doesn’t look like it bothered too many of us.
