Hulk Legends is a series of new Marvel Legends that Hasbro is debuting for 2008. There are 8 figures in all, so far, which are being split up into 2 waves of 4. Wave 1 is due out in August, and Wave 2 is due out in September.
The interesting news is that there is a build a figure which is being split up between the 2 waves. The build a figure is Fin Fang Foom which will be split up into 8 pieces. So collectors will have to wait for both waves, and buy all 8 figures to get Fin Fang Foom. Also, the suggested retail price of the Hulk Legends are $14.99 a piece. So it may be more expensive to get them all, depending on what the price is at retailers like Wal-Mart and Target. Anyway, here they are.
Wave 1 includes the following figures:
King Hulk

Savage She-Hulk

Son Of Hulk

The End Hulk

The second series is set to be released in September 2008 and will include the following figures:
Absorbing Man

Doc Samson

Savage Grey Hulk

Wendigo

Collect them all to build a 15-inch Fing-Fang-Foom figure.

At San Diego Comic Con last year, we saw a preview of the Marvel Legends Icon line that somehow never made it to retail. Here is the list of what was shown.
- Daredevil (Red)
- Daredevil (Yellow)
- Phoenix
- Dark Phoenix
- Colossus
- Nightcrawler
It has been almost a year since these were previewed. Does anyone know what happened to these figures? Are they canceled or we will see them sometime in the future? Here is a gallery of the Marvel Legends Icons that were shown last year at San Diego Comic Con on Marvelous News.

After seeing Spider-Man 3, I’ve been thinking a lot about who should be in Spider-Man 4. To me, it’s about giving the fans the best story possible, and I wonder how much good material is left to take from the comics. But to make a good story, the villain is crucial. There are some obvious choices based on what happened in Spider-Man 3, but I think Marvel should go in a different direction. I think the best choice for the villain in Spider-Man 4 is the Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk.
Here is why they should do it. The Kingpin is one of my favorite villains and appeared in some of the greatest Spider-Man and Daredevil storylines ever. The cool thing about the Kingpin is that he has no special superpowers. He has only his mind, honed on the streets, which he uses for crime. Also, many of supervillains are insane and/or have alter egos. The Kingpin is not insane but rather intelligent and has no secret identity. He IS the Kingpin. The Kingpin needs to be in Spider-Man 4 because he is one of the best and most evil villains in the Marvel universe.
Now, here’s how they should do it. I realize that the Kingpin has already appeared in a Marvel movie, Daredevil. To do the Kingpin right, Marvel needs to pretend that didn’t happen, the same way that DC pretended Superman 3 and 4 didn’t happen with Superman Returns, not to mention Batman Begins. Daredevil would have been a lot better if they had done the Kingpin right.
I think the to do the Kingpin right in a movie, they need to use CGI, but I always thought that this would not work. Then, it hit me the other day. It has already been done. In the Lord of the Rings, Gollum is a main character which interacts with the live actors the entire film, yet Gollum is CGI. Also recently, in King Kong, Kong himself is CGI yet interacts with everything else in a very real way.
So, who should they get to play the Kingpin if they do this? Why, Andy Serkis of course! He was the real life model for Gollum and King Kong. Plus, he’s a great actor who would do a tremendous job with this character. And if Marvel doesn’t want to do this, they could always redo Daredevil, pretending the first one didn’t happen, they way they are doing the Hulk this year.

I just wrote about Wanted, and decided to write a post about Mark Millar’s next soon to be a hit comic book, Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass #1 is due out Feb. 27th, 2008. It’s written by Millar and drawn by John Romita, Jr. If you remember, they last worked together on Wolverine, and the result were one of the best Wolverine runs in recent history.
Let me just say if you are a fan of Millar, or just realistic superhero comics in general, you’re going to want to pick this one up. Here is the synopsis.
The greatest super hero comic of all-time is finally here. WOLVERINE: ENEMY OF THE STATE’s team of MARK MILLAR (CIVIL WAR) and JOHN ROMITA JR. (WORLD WAR HULK) reunite for the best new book of the 21st century. Have you ever wanted to be a super hero? Dreamed of donning a mask and just heading outside to some kick-ass? Well, this is the book for you–the comic that starts where other super hero books draw the line. KICK-ASS is realistic super heroes taken to the next level. Miss out and you’re an idiot!
Anyway, here are some Kick-Ass related things you may want to check out until it comes out:
