Wizard Exclusive Light-Up Spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi Bust

Here is another exclusive Star Wars bust for Gentle Giant fans. Seriously, they have done so many of these this year, I have given up keeping track of them. This time it is a light-up version of Obi-Wan Kenobi exclusive to Wizard. It is limited to 2,000 and goes on sale October 11th for $59.99. According to Wizard, it is due to ship in late October.

This bust looks to be exactly the same sculpt as the Obi-Wan that was released earlier this year. It is made of translucent material and lights up the same way that the light up Yoda bust does that was exclusive to Celebration IV. It doesn’t seem that fans are falling over themselves to get the light up busts. Yoda wasn’t hard to get, and it doesn’t look like Obi-Wan will be either.

Update - 10/9/07: The Spirit Obi-Wan Bust is now up for sale on Wizard’s site.

Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot LEGO Maquette

The Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot LEGO Maquette is now up for sale on ToysRUs.com for $69.99. I haven’t yet heard whether or not this is a limited edition. It was offered previously bundled with the Lego X-Wing set. This is the first time it is available by itself.

The release date is 10/28/07, and there are no pictures on the listing as of this posting. The Luke Skywalker Maquette is the fourth in the new series of limited edition LEGO Star Wars maquettes. The maquette measures approximately 6 inches tall. The head is removable and can be used on the other maquettes.

Update - 10/15/07: This is no longer available on Toys R Us’s web site, but they have posted images of this you can see below. However, there are a lot of Luke maquettes up on eBay right now. You can also find the other Lego maquettes on eBay here.

Baltimore Comic-Con Exclusives Premiere Guild Raffle

Gentle Giant e-mailed Premiere Guild members and updated their blog today with information on the raffles for the Baltimore Comic-Con exclusives. According to Gentle Giant, the raffles will begin at the end of the week. Here are the items and quantities available for raffle.

Will the Commander Bacara Bust be Available at Retail?

It looks like the Commander Bacara bust may be available at retail. Think about it. The edition size is 2,000. 500 were available for pre-order, and 500 are being held back for the 5 pack. 250 are being held back for the Premiere Guild raffle after the show. 250 are for sale during the show. Unless, I am missing some, that leaves an extra 500.

When the Commander exclusive busts were announced, Gentle Giant mentioned that they would be making the Bacara bust available for purchase to Diamond retailers. Here is the info taken from their blog post.

In conjunction with Diamond Comic Distributors 2007 Retailer Summit, we are offering up a quantity of Commander Bacara to retailers at a discounted price for their customers who are not able to make the trek out to Baltimore for the convention. For interested retailers please contact Baltimore Comic-Con for more information.

I wonder if Diamond retailers will be getting those extra 500? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Until then, you might want to keep an eye out for Diamond retailers who are going to Baltimore this weekend. Let’s hope they don’t let them jack the prices up, although that is unlikely.

Commander Bacara Bust Already on eBay

Now that the Baltimore Comic-Con is coming up, and Gentle Giant has already put their Baltimore exclusives up for pre-order, it’s time to check eBay to see what exclusives are there. In a shocking turn of events (gasp!), the Commander Bacara bust is up for sale on eBay with asking prices over $200.

Alright, I admit I’m being sarcastic. It’s not that big of a surprise. So, if you cannot make it to Baltimore and lack friends who are going to Baltimore and are unable to find someone to trade with, eBay is your only option right now.

Commander Bacara is limited to 2,000. However, to put it in perspective, 500 of them will be in the upcoming 5 pack. 200 of them will be up for raffle for the Premiere Guild members. 500 are up for pre-order, which leaves only 800 that are actually for sale at the show. How’s that for a show exclusive?
