According to Diamond Comics Shipping List this week, Gentle Giant’s Princess Leia mini bust will be arriving in comic stores this Wednesday. These first started showing up at comic stores near the West Coast last week. It was announced by Diamond last month that the Leia bust would be delayed until this week. Forbidden Planet, an overseas retailer located in London, England, just sent out their weekly e-newsletter announcing a contest for the Commander Bly Exclusive Mini-Bust where they are giving away five of them, plus a grand prize which includes this year’s tour exclusives. I just received a shipping notice from Gentle Giant that the Premiere Guild Exclusive Animated Blackhole Stormtrooper maquette is now shipping. According to the e-mail I received, it shipped yesterday, and the tracking number shows I should receive it on Monday, August 13th.
The Animated Blackhole Stormtrooper maquette was exclusive to members of the Premiere Guild and limited to 1,000. See the following posts, here and here, for our coverage of this exclusive.

I found this quote on the Gentle Giant blog when I was going through their archives. This was said in relation to the announcement of the Gentle Giant World Tour and the Clone Commander Exclusive busts. I will let their words speak for themselves here.
As amazing as the Clone Trooper Commanders are, Gentle Giant knows that a single exclusive does not a party make. So the company is offering multiple tour exclusives to go along with the specific location exclusives.
This kicked off the strategy that left a horrible taste in the mouths of many collectors for 2007. Gentle Giant has said they are planning less exclusives for 2008. Only time will tell, but we can hope, can’t we?

The Premiere Guild exclusive Animated Blackhole Stormtrooper maquette is finding its way onto eBay, at high prices I might add, even though it is still available for sale to Premiere Guild members.

Gentle Giant just sent out an e-mail to all premiere guild members. Up for order on their web site right now is the Animated Blackhole Stormtrooper Maquette. It is limited to 1,000 and exclusive to Premiere Guild members through Gentle Giant’s web site. Below is the link, but you must be logged in to your account to access it.

If you were able to get the hot Animated Mace Windu maquette Hyperspace exclusive a few weeks ago, start watching for the delivery guy. According to rebelscum forum members who ordered, credit cards are being charged and shipment tracking numbers are being sent out.
If you missed out on this, the Mace Windu maquette was a Hyperspace exclusive through StarWarsShop.com and limited to 1,000. Gentle Giant had said that Mace would be the last maquette in the Clone Wars animated line.
Of course, Mace is long sold out and the only place you can get the Mace maquette now is on eBay. Maybe the price will come down now that these are actually getting into collectors hands. See here and here for previous coverage.

Rebelscum has another photo gallery of a Gentle Giant bust that is starting to ship now. This time it’s the AFX exclusive Coruscant Clone Trooper Mini Bust. This bust was limited to 2,500 and exclusive to action figure xpress. The Coruscant clone trooper bust features a removable head sculpt of the Jango Fett/clone likeness. The Coruscant Clone has long sold out, so again your best bet will be eBay, where it looks like prices are starting to come down now that this is starting to ship.
